I have and use a Microtech 4 scanner. I cut the centering sections out of the 
six strip scanner what I think is a great scan that I then print on an Epson 
Stylus 750. Eight inches is as tall as I can get, but it gives me a beautiful 
print.

Perhaps you are doing something else to give you a problem.
