    I have several black mounting boards cut to glass size, then with a 6x17 
or a 4x5 or a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 opening, and the weight of the mounting boards 
holds the negs flat but does not add enough pressure to force Newtons Rings.  
Works good for me!
