An interesting thread.

I am thinking of getting a 2000P too and am pleased to hear you like
it.  I have been scanning my 35mm with a Coolscan and other formats on
an HP 4C.  Both have been transformed by installing Silverfast 5 which
allows otherwise impossible trannies to be scanned.  It however does not
overcome the inherent limitations of the scanners, just maximises their
possibilities.  I would be interested particularly in how well the 1600
scanner scans dark Velvias - do you get scan lines in the dark areas?
